Transcend Unveils Its 112-layer 3D NAND PCIe M.2 SSDs

PC components Jan 28,2022 0

Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend®), a leading manufacturer of embedded memory products, recently released its industrial-grade 112-layer PCIe M.2 SSDs. Coming with a M.2 2280 form factor and up to 2TB capacity, this new series of SSDs is embedded with high-speed PCIe Gen4 x4 and PCIe Gen3 x4 interfaces. Leveraging advanced technologies and manufacturing process, Transcend enhances the drive performance and reliability, offering another durable storage solution for AI, 5G communication, enterprise servers, and IPC.

112-layer 3D NAND: Leap to the next-gen performance
Thanks to the new generation of 3D NAND flash technology, memory cells can be vertically stacked to 112 layers, and the storage density per cell reaches 1Tb, a two-fold increase compared to 96-layer SSDs. 112-layer 3D NAND also delivers higher transfer speeds, 50% higher throughput than its predecessor. Transcend’s 112-layer 3D NAND SSDs offer an endurance rating of 3K P/E cycles, and are able to operate securely under an extended temperature range (-20°C~-75°C). All drives have undergone robust tests to ensure that optimal reliability can fully support heavy industrial workloads.

PCIe Gen4 x4 interface: Even faster
Transcend’s MTE720T SSD is designed with a PCIe Gen4 x4 high-speed interface and an 8-channel controller, complying with the NVMe 1.4 protocol. With DDR4 DRAM cache attached, its performance reaches 7,400/6,000 MB/s, ideal for a broad range of data-rich applications. On top of that, Corner Bond and 30µ” PCB gold fingers are implemented to protect the key components, enhancing its durability and shock resistance.

Value-added technologies for optimized performance
Transcend’s industrial-grade 112-layer 3D NAND SSDs are built with advanced firmware technologies for higher data integrity and stability. This includes ECC engine, Global Wear Leveling, Bad Block Management, Garbage Collection, S.M.A.R.T. analysis, and Dynamic Thermal Throttling, which effectively monitors drive temperature to prevent overheating.

Software and hardware integration
Transcend’s exclusive Control Center embedded software solution offers remote and instant monitoring of end devices, allowing a more efficient management of storage devices that are deployed at scale. Rigorous in-house testing and strict product lifecycle management (PLM) enable Transcend to satisfy clients’ needs relentlessly. With the support of a professional R&D team and years of experience in storage manufacturing, Transcend continues to assist businesses to explore their unlimited potential in this new era.

Transcend’s embedded SSDs are covered by a three-year limited warranty. For more information visit https://www.transcend-info.com/About/press/11898
